Tennis Notebook

Remember every match. Win the next one.

Tennis Notebook keeps your scores, opponents, game plans and gear in one place, so you walk on court knowing what worked last time.

Matches screen: an upcoming match and the latest results with set scores
Analytics screen: a 17 and 9 record, form over the last 15 matches and win rate by surface

Built around match day.

Three small habits. Each one makes the next match easier.

  1. Before

    Walk on with a plan

Set your goals, pick the plays you want to run, and reread what you wrote about this opponent last time.

An upcoming match with two plays attached: ad wide to the open court, and a deuce wide serve finished at the net
  2. After

Write it down while it is fresh

Log the score set by set, tiebreaks included, then note what worked and what did not.

The score of a match won 6-4, 3-6 and 10-8 in the deciding tiebreak
The goals set before that match and the notes written after it
  3. Over time

    See the pattern

Win rates by surface, your form over the last ten, head to head records. The notebook connects the dots.

Win rate by surface: 76 percent on hard, 40 on clay, 33 on indoor hard

The tactics board

Draw the play. Then run it.

Turn a pattern into something you can see: serve wide, come in, volley into the open court. Press play and watch the point unfold, shot by shot.

  • Start from a built-in playbook of serve, return and rally patterns.
  • Build your own with a few taps on the court.
  • Attach plays to the opponents they work against.

Also in the notebook.

Your opponents, your gear and your season, kept next to your matches.

  • One opponent's page: scouting notes on strengths and weaknesses, and a 2 and 2 head to head record

    A book on every opponent

Head to head record, strengths, weaknesses and how the last meetings went, ready before the rematch.

  • Two racquets with their strings, tension and the matches played since each was strung

    Your whole bag

Racquets, strings and tension, with how many matches each string job has played.

  • A month on the match calendar: eight matches, a 6 and 2 record and a 75 percent win rate

    Your season on a calendar

Every match day at a glance, with the month's record and win rate on top.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to track every point?

No. Tennis Notebook is a journal, not a live scoring app. You enter the final score and your notes after the match.

Does it work for doubles?

Yes. Log singles or doubles with your partner and both opponents, and see your record for each.

Which scoring formats can I log?

Best of one, three or five sets, short sets, no-ad scoring, tiebreaks, and a super tiebreak in place of a final set. Retirements and walkovers too.

Is my notebook backed up?

Yes. It is saved to your account, so it is there when you change phones, on iPhone and Android alike.

Is Tennis Notebook free?

It is free to download and try. After the free trial it is a subscription, with a one-time lifetime option if you would rather pay once. Prices are shown in the app before you pay.
